Demand Bottleneck for Episerver .NET Developers

Tagged:

The Swedish CMS job market is dominated by employers seeking EpiServer skills. Companies throughout Sweden that are implementing EpiServer to manage corporate content, documents and websites face skills shortages in several key areas that may slow development efforts and jack up costs.

Analysis of open positions at the Straightforward Job Search Tool shows that the greatest demand for EpiServer positions is for experienced .NET system developers. The large number of positions open indicate that there is a bottleneck in this area of the job market. EpiServer customers are finding it difficult to recruit personnel with the .NET skills needed, pushing up the market price of contractors in this area and making it more costly to retain employees in a tight market. Many positions are being advertised by the big Swedish body-shops that contract development services to the big Swedish companies and organisations that have adopted EpisServer.

General experience in Episerver is cited in many other job positions as being desirable or necessary. These include data administration jobs, HR positions, and a wide variety of other employments and contracts which deal peripherally with content.

Even in the current downturn, there is not surprisingly strong demand for web-savvy developers and webmasters working on both internet and intranet sites, and marketing information people who are feeding the hungry EpiServer beast with content.
